After Foxie's passing, we searched for another female and found Bunnie. What can I say about Bunnie? Bunnie was born on Easter Sunday and thus came the name, King's Little Easter Bunnie. Although we still had no interest in showing dogs, her breeder, Kathrin King, convinced us to show her and insisted we use her handler, Karen Van Brummelen. We agreed to do so as long as she did not become stressed. Well, Bunnie just loves her handler, the show ring, and all the attention it gets her.
Bunnie was shown on a limited basis. We chose to take a little longer for her to finish so she would not be away from the family every weekend or long weeks at a time. Bunnie finished her championship in West Springfield, Massachusettes under the handling of Michelle Scott.
Karen thinks she was misnamed, she believes that we should have named her the "Energizer Bunnie." Lucille and I think she is right. Bunnie seems to have an endless supply of energy; she can go out for a 2 mile jog and then still have the energy to play vigorously upon return.
We have developed such a great love for the breed that we have decided to become breeders ourselves. Bunnie has proven to be a perfect choice for our foundation and we have already chosen a perfect mate for her first litter! We will keep that information to ourselves until the time comes to breed her.
